On 8 October 2026, an introductory information session will be held for representatives of the TB service non-governmental organizations (NGOs) community on the rules and procedures for electing a community representative to the Country Coordinating Committee for work with international organizations on HIV and tuberculosis (CCM). The objective of the session is to provide community representatives with the necessary information on the election process, principles of participation, requirements for voters and candidates, as well as the procedures for registration and voting. During the session, participants will learn:
Particular attention will be given to the role of the future community representative on the CCM. The representative is expected to represent the interests of the community as a whole, rather than only those of their own organization, participate in discussions on issues of national importance, consult with the community, and ensure regular feedback.
As part of the new election cycle for non-state sector representatives to the new Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for HIV and Tuberculosis in Kazakhstan, a working meeting took place between the CCM Secretariat and representatives of the organizing committees from the respective constituencies. During the meeting, participants were briefed on the key stages of the election process, the role of organizing committee representatives, and the procedures for interacting with the CCM Secretariat, constituencies, and partner organizations. Particular emphasis was placed on conducting elections in accordance with the approved procedures of the respective constituencies, ensuring process transparency, and documenting all stages. Organizing committee representatives are now beginning work with their constituencies; this includes informing potential voters and candidates, registering election participants, establishing the required commissions, and preparing necessary documentation. Candidate and voter registration must be completed by October 20, 2026. The next stage will be the conduct of elections within the constituencies. Voting will take place between October 30 and November 6, 2026, in accordance with each constituency's rules. Following the elections, the relevant protocols and documents will be submitted to the CCM Secretariat to finalize the composition of the new Committee. The CCM Secretariat will continue to provide organizational and methodological support to the organizing committee representatives throughout all stages of the election process. On September 23, 2026, at 14:00, an online working meeting of the Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for work with international organizations on HIV and Tuberculosis will take place. The meeting will focus on the results of Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) in Kazakhstan, implemented as part of the Global Fund’s HIV component project. Participants will discuss key CLM findings from 2025 - 2026, identified systemic issues, and potential directions for the future development of the monitoring mechanism. Particular attention will be paid to defining priorities that could be incorporated into the new Global Fund GC8 grant for 2027-2029. Nurali Amanzholov, Community-Led Monitoring Consultant for the Global Fund Project Implementation Unit and Chair of the CCM’s CLM Working Group will present the results. On September 10, 2026, a working meeting was held to organize the election of non-state sector representatives to the new Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM) for engagement with international organizations regarding HIV and tuberculosis in Kazakhstan. During the meeting, participants discussed the key stages of the electoral process, the roles of organizing committee representatives, procedures for interacting with the CCM Secretariat, and matters concerning candidate and voter registration and procedural documentation. An updated election plan and a draft announcement regarding the launch of the open election were presented to the participants. Representatives of the constituencies agreed to hold internal meetings, designate members for the organizing committee, and submit the relevant information to the CCM Secretariat by September 18, 2026. The election process entails the sequential completion of established stages, culminating in the finalization of the process and the submission of final documents by early November 2026.

On 23 July 2026, a meeting of the Country Coordinating Mechanism for Cooperation with International Organizations on HIV Infection and Tuberculosis (CCM) was held under the chairmanship of Mr. M.Y. Ramazanov, Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the newly elected Chair of the CCM. During the meeting, CCM members reviewed the key issues related to the preparation of Kazakhstan's HIV funding request under the Global Fund Grant Cycle 8 (GC8) for the 2027–2029 allocation period, discussed the next steps for its further refinement, and considered issues related to ensuring the sustainability of the national HIV and tuberculosis response. Following the discussion, it was decided to return the funding request for further revision and subsequently submit it for electronic voting by email. Agenda:
